So November 2nd arrived - I didn't want to pester the supplier on her return so I waited a couple of days and then emailed her to see if she'd been able to obtain the background fabric.

 

This was when the real challenges began - her reply was that unfortunately she'd been unable to get any more.

 

What to do? I was determined now that I was going to complete this quilt for my sister, and I had prepared myself for the fact that the fabric might not be available, so it was 'back to the drawing board'.

 

I asked the supplier if I would be able to visit her (she lived only 30 minutes drive from me) so that I could choose some other fabrics. She was very accomodating but wouldn't be available for a week and a half. We arranged that I go down a week on the following Tuesday, which meant we would now be well into November!

 

Time was beginning to run out. Nothing more to be done though, so once more, I put the project to one side.
